Daxor Corporation signs agreement with Washington Hospital Center for BVA-100

New York, NY January 16, 2006 - Daxor Corporation (AMEX:DXR), a medical instrumentation and biotechnology company, today announced that it has received a signed agreement with Washington Hospital Center for a BVA-100 Blood Volume Analyzer. Washington Hospital Center is one of the nation's top teaching hospitals as well as the largest private teaching hospital in the District of Columbia, serving more than 200,000 patients per year. The Washington Hospital Center is one of the seven MedStar Hospitals. MedStar Health is a non-profit community health based organization serving the Baltimore/Washington area. MedStar Health ranks among the nation's leading centers of excellence in terms of health care services, quality patient care, medical education and scientific research.

Blood volume measurements provide important information in a wide range of medical and surgical conditions such as blood loss during surgery or trauma, congestive heart failure, hypertension, syncope (sudden loss of consciousness), kidney failure and anemia. The BVA-100 will enable physicians and other specialists to screen patients for blood volume abnormalities. Undetected low blood volume at the time of surgery, for example, may result in severe complications. Utilization of the Blood Volume Analyzer can enable physicians to determine the most appropriate therapy to optimize blood volume at the time of surgery.

Daxor Corporation manufactures and markets the BVA-100, a semi-automated Blood Volume Analyzer. The BVA-100 is used in conjunction with a single use diagnostic kit, and measures blood volume to within a 98% accuracy.
